Starting a Scripture Study Group
Customers and employees often tell us that they like to study scripture as part of their spiritual development. In fact, many set goals to read scripture regularly and apply what they learn to their lives. Even with the best of intentions, the practice of regular scripture reading can get disrupted by life’s daily demands.
Just like exercising with a group or joining a book club, studying scripture with a group can help you stay on track with your goal and also make the process more fun and meaningful. But where to start? How do you create a study group? Here are three simple steps we have collected that we believe will help you get a study group up and running.
Step 1: Pick a topic to cover.
Using online resources such as Bible Study Tools. If you need further inspiration, First United Bank offers free books on faith and spirituality. Just stop by your nearest location to pick one up.
Step 2: Find a place.
First United Bank has several locations across Oklahoma and Texas that have community rooms available for just that - our communities! Hosting local groups in our community rooms brings us so much joy. Please reach out to a First United Bank near you to check availability of starting a study group.
Step 3: Spread the word.
Let family, friends, and other individuals in your community know that this is coming and to keep an eye out for future details. Email, text and social media are great ways to let your invitees know where and when you’ll be holding your study group.
We hope this helps get you off to a strong start. Faith is one of First United Bank four pillars that help our customers Spend Life Wisely. The other three pillars are Health, Financial Well Being, and Personal Growth. Faith is core for our company, and we really want you to feel success with your scripture study.
