What does faith look like in action? It’s more than words or beliefs—it’s a commitment to loving your neighbor, seeking justice, and showing mercy. It’s about walking humbly with God and standing boldly for those in need.
Our mission to inspire and empower others to Spend Life Wisely is guided by enduring principles of faith. We believe in not just being part of the community but actively working to serve and uplift it—especially the most vulnerable among us.
Living Out Micah 6:8
"He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."
Micah’s words resonate deeply with the heart of faith-based action. Acting justly means recognizing inequality and taking steps to correct it. Loving mercy requires us to give generously to those who need compassion and understanding. Together, these values call us to move beyond comfort zones and into action.
How can you show justice and mercy today? Maybe it’s volunteering to mentor a child, extending grace to a struggling neighbor, or advocating for a cause close to your heart.
Seeking Justice for the Vulnerable
The Bible urges us time and again to "seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, and plead the widow's cause" (Isaiah 1:17). This call to action isn’t distant or abstract—it’s right here in our neighborhoods.
Who are the vulnerable in your community? The single mother balancing two jobs. The elderly man living alone. The displaced family starting their lives anew. Faith in action means stepping in, standing up, and making a difference. At First United Bank, we partner with local organizations to ensure our neighbors receive the support they need.
Loving Your Neighbor as Yourself
Luke 10:27 reminds us, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"
Think about that for a moment. Loving others as you love yourself means going beyond offering tokens of help; it’s about bringing dignity, hope, and opportunity to others.
It could look like helping a struggling small business owner get back on their feet, donating to support local food pantries, or simply taking time to listen to someone’s story. These acts of love and generosity don’t go unnoticed—they ripple outward, inspiring others to do the same.
"Whatever You Did For The Least of These..."
Matthew 25:40 reminds us of the eternal significance of our actions. "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."
Every time you lend a hand to someone in need, you reflect God’s love. Every time you give back—whether through time, resources, or advocacy—you make His love visible. Through these choices, we build stronger communities rooted in compassion and hope.
Be Part of the Change
Faith in action isn’t a solo journey—it’s a community effort. We invite our customers, partners, and neighbors to live intentionally, prioritizing the well-being of all. Join us as we grow initiatives supporting vulnerable populations and advocating for lasting change.
